Maari 2 is a 2018 Indian Tamil comedy action masala film directed by Balaji Mohan. It is a sequel to his 2015 film Maari. Dhanush, besides producing the film under his company Wunderbar Films, also stars the title character.[1] [2] Sai Pallavi, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Tovino Thomas & Krishna Kulasekaran will play other important roles.It was released on 21 December 2018, to mixed reviews from critics.[3]

Production
Principal photography for the film began on 22 January 2018.[2] Sai Pallavi portrays the female lead,[1] while Tovino Thomas portrays the villain of the film.[4] Shooting ended in August 2018.[5]
As for the technical team for this film, only Om Prakash and Prasanna GK are retained as the cinematographer and editor respectively, following their work in the film's predecessor before. Meanwhile, Yuvan Shankar Raja and A. Amaran are signed as the music director and art director respectively, replacing Anirudh Ravichander and R. K. Vijaimurugan who earlier handles music and art direction for the previous film.

The music of the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who replaces the predecessor's music composer Anirudh. The audio rights of the film are secured by the production house as well. The song, "Rowdy Baby" by Dhanush and Dhee, was released on 27 November 2018 as a single. The song, "Maari's Aanandhi" written by Dhanush and sung by Ilaiyaraaja and M. M. Manasi, was released on 10 December 2018
